What’s Hot on TikTok: January 14

The Tyra Banks audio challenge has been a fun one to follow lately — the iconic quote from America’s Next Top Model reads “It is so bad, I want to give you a 0. But that’s not possible, so I give you a 1”. The way this works is people show off an embarrassing moment and overlay the video with text. Then at the end of the audio, they reveal a corresponding picture of themself taken from the embarrassing moment. Of course you can count on TikTok users to put their most embarrassing moments on display! But what has made this trend even more entertaining is the celebrities who have participated. My favorites are from Charli D’Amelio and Joe Jonas.

If you’ve been on TikTok lately, you’ve likely seen Hina Sabatine on your FYP (for you page). They are a Gen Z comedian most well-known their iconic lesbian parent character. They also post relatable ‘zodiac signs as…’ videos and ‘if they were honest’ skits. For brands who are trying to tap into Gen Z consumers on TikTok in a comical way, Hina would make a great collab.

Now this is one of the coolest visual trends I’ve seen on TikTok. People are pairing the “Them Changes” audio by Thundercat with the lens swap filter to record themselves from a low angle walking away from their cameras— creating this totally nostalgic Nickelodeon ‘90s vibe. Those who can film this trend well will have a good chance in the algorithm as it is still a newer trend. Best of luck!
