What’s Hot on TikTok: January 7

This is one of the most entertaining trends out there right now. Flying jumping is when people video themselves from a low angle, jumping as high as they can, alternating legs, while keeping their back parallel to the floor. Yes… quite a complicated move. I know. But it makes these videos all the more intriguing. But please be careful. A hefty handful of these videos have ended with people falling on their face!

Cartoon TikTokers strike once again. @ketnipz is a satirical little character named Bean who experiences relatable life situations. They release videos twice a month, similar to a TV series, and have amassed 4.7 million followers. With TikTok and TV now competing against each other for viewers’ attention, I’m fascinated to see how each medium slowly morphs into the other. Mini cartoon series like this seem to mark the beginning.

Looking for a goofy new trend? This PhotoMix template is all the rage. TikTokers have been using it as a medium to tell funny stories with still images. Some of my favorites include text screen shots of friend group drama, or random photo dumps that leave me confused yet entertained. Have fun. There are endless possibilities.
