Listen expands Investment team with Associate, Hylton Irons

The Listen squad is made up of a small group of us who love finding entrepreneurs who are challenging the status quo for good and then helping them build their brands. So, needless to say, when we have the chance to grow that team, we get excited.

In early 2021, we began a search to expand our Investment Team with a new Associate position. We were blown away by the nearly 300 qualified applications and we’re thrilled to announce that Hylton Irons has joined the team — full name is Hylton Wade Irons, so he officially has the best name at Listen. Hylton made the move from the Big Apple to the Windy City and is ready to dig in. He built his skills analyzing the drivers that make a great business through his time managing IPOs, M&A transitions, and strategic alternatives in Equity Capital Markets at Morgan Stanley, and most recently with Healthcare Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs in New York.

Prior to joining the workforce, he graduated with a degree in Economics from Brown University where he was involved in “Black in Business at Brown” and was the treasurer of his chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Even though Hylton spent his most recent years in Providence and NYC, he’s a big Wizard’s basketball fan so be sure to give him a hard time about that.

Hylton will support Jeff, Kimmie, and Rick on prospecting, diligence, and Portfolio Company support, as well as offer his very valuable Gen Z perspective to all things at Listen. We’re excited for you to meet him!
